Not sure how to describe this. I'm three days out from my sleeve, and one curious and annoying side effect is a kind of light, bubbly reflux, kind of like a frothing. Tis obviously tells me I'm full, but does anyone have insight into this one?

I'm pre-op, but from what I've read, it's called sliming. It's excess, foamy saliva and pretty common if someone eats too much or doesn't chew we'll enough or eats too fast.

That is great info, thank you, and it confirms that I am probably doing something too quick or too much. Thanks for the hint. When is your surgery?

No specific date, but sometime in June. I'm almost done with my 6 month supervised diet that my insurance company requires.

Sliming is different than the frothing. I had slimed once after eating too fast two weeks post op, you get slimy spit that comes up from your stomach which is slick, not bubbly like the froth. however the frothing was a near constant from about 6 weeks out when I became very ill. I spent 6 weeks ill until I finally went to the ER, 6 days later I had my gallbladder removed. From the day after my gallbladder was removed to this day 2 months later I have not had the frothing at all. I don't know what the relation is if any, but it is odd.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
