Sorry to hear that. I am single and live alone, so I can't imagine what you're going through. Well, maybe a little. I still go to the buffets with a friend on the weekends. And if I find something that really tastes good, I miss being able to eat a whole lot of it. But I try to put a positive spin on it and think, "Ha ha, you can't make me over eat you!"

oh gosh i know! If i don't see the food i don't want it, but if i see or smell it, omg it's torture. I told my hubby that in 2 weeks, when i can eat food again, i'm going to be cooking so much, even if i can only eat 2 bites of it, that i probably wont have to cook for the rest of the year! Though one thing that has helped me is to suck one sf fruit snack till it is completely dissolved, then if i'm still craving i'll let myself suck on another. It really helps. Hang in there!

I feel ya! I'm starting to want food I didn't even like before the surgery. I'm a vegetarian and KFC looks and smells soooo good now. I'm living on yogurt, cottage cheese, fake meat, and vegetarian chili. I'm 1 month out and I drool over everything!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
