How early did you start?

Recommended Posts

After surgery, and was it aerobic, resistance, or both? My paperwork says at the 2 month mark I can exercise, but I do NOT like floppy fat. I feel so much better about my weightloss while working out.

That said, I don't feel good enough to exercise yet. (At 12 days)

I started 2 weeks post-op. My surgeon said I was pretty much healed by then. I do Zumba and work out with a trainer twice a week - we do a lot of "functional exercises" ie squats, lunges, etc and light weights. No problems and I have lots more energy! The only thing I notice is occasionally when I engage my core/abdominal muscles too much, I can feel where the muscle was cut on to get my stomach out but it's not bad at all.

Mine just says "as tolerated" but officially, 4 weeks I can start "hard" cardio, running, road bike, etc and 6 weeks full release back to lifting weights and such.

I pretty much played it by how my body felt. I was back in the gym doing full on cardio at about 3 weeks and lifting heavy at 1 month out.
