Lying about Weight Loss Surgery !

Recommended Posts

We need a separate forum just for this topic, also 3 week stall ( or any stall ) and if I put a big Mac in the blender is that purée food questions. I am amazed that it's gone 50+ posts and nobody has been called a nazi yet, when did it get so ok to toss that term around ? Anyway sorry to interrupt, please continue "supporting" one another !

I don't know how I'm gonna handle this as I'm only 12 days out. I really REALLY don't want my in laws knowing and thy know a lot of people so of I tell anyone it's gonna get back to them. Basically I'm not a big small talker and I don't feel like answering a billion and one questions about it umpteen times to people I dont even know.

And BTW OP.. This is a public forum. You asked a question and some of us answered, but apparently you don't like our answer. So you call us names?

Please, play nicely

How do they know she's lying? Unless ... someone told them?

Maybe it was taking a month off from work coming back 50 pounds lighter lmao

You're assuming. Hopefully you don't fuel their gossip. She obviously wants to keep it quiet

Please feel free to introduce her to this forum.. Seems to be quite a lot of support here that she may need.

The only reason they talk **** is because they know she is Lieing ! I always stick up for my friend ...that's why she trusts me enough to confide in me that I won't tell others about her surgery

They may think it but they don't know for sure. Unless someone tells them. But really, why do you care one single bit about these people? Sounds like they just want to "get the dirt" so they can say they are right. Why give that kind of gossip the time of day?

Just wondering.

I really don't understand why these threads continually turn into fights and personal attacks.

I think it is fine to state your opinion and the reason you feel that way' date=' but I am finding this site is turning into a school yard of bullying and name calling.

Things get taken out of context, the barbs go flying and we are off on another 100+ post thread that has little to do with the original subject matter.[/quote']

That's exactly what I am seeing. It seems the "Vets" are attacking the "Newbies" in my opinion. All this girl was saying is that she can't see why you would want to hide this surgery, it is a blessing really. I can see both sides but I chose to tell whoever asks. There are like 3 or 4 of you that MADE this post get out of control and yet you say it always starts out like that and gets bad. Most of you are practically attacking the Poster. Just because she has her own opinion doesn't mean you have to repeatedly tell her she is wrong! This site really is starting to get on my nerves.

Well if she wants to know who's her shallowest fake friend all she needs to do is read this. Well we all have a talk behind your back kinda friend I guess..

Oh and I chose not to tell due to a horrific boss who only let me take time off if it was medically required and not an elective surgery. Otherwise I'd tell!

I'm such a good friend that I tell her to her face to stop the lies. But it's kinda too late now once you tell a lie you have to stick with it and it just keeps getting bigger and bigger .

You are such a good friend that you tell her she is lying (as how most of us spell it) and you want her to do it your way when clearly she wants to keep it private? Wow. Just wow.

If that's what you crazy kids are calling it these days.

This is exactly what I am talking about. YOU my friend are being such a school yard bully that you are correcting the grammar on the headline of the original post. SMH, this is a huge disappointment.

No and I'm sorry you read it as if we're being harsh, but like I said, she plainly stated she doesn't understand why some choose not to tell others. (well, ok.. She actually called us liars) but ... oh well. So we told her why, but she apparently doesn't like our answer so we try to keep explaining so that perhaps she can comprehend the reason some of us, (including her "friend"), prefer to keep our WLS to our selves.

It's quite simple

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
