sailorbrees 69 Posted March 14, 2013 I found an unflavored Protein Powder that I add to Special K Protein Drink and blend with ice. I've been doing this for a week. The guy at GNC swore that it was for weight loss. I'm looking at the label today, and it says not a weight loss supplement. Have I been screwing with my pre-op? Anyone know about this?? Kinda freaking out, as I'd like to lose at least 7lbs between now and 4/8. I'm also walking everyday, so hopefully that helps...
joatsaint 2,814 Posted March 14, 2013 No, I don't believe you are messing up your diet. He probably meant that it was for weight loss in the sense that it is a low carb food and wouldn't spike your blood sugar - as long as there's no added sugars in the Protein mix. If you are tracking your calories, then be sure to add the calories from the whey Protein as well.
sailorbrees 69 Posted March 14, 2013 Thank you! I count every bite of everything on MyFitnessPal. I am on a 1200 calorie daily diet and I'm always well within my limits, I was just so worried. It turns a 10g Protein drink into a 34g one, so I was hoping it would be ok. Thanks again!!!
anniemay 150 Posted March 14, 2013 I have been afraid to try this. Does it really not have any flavor to it? Does it leave a film or have a weird texture?
sailorbrees 69 Posted March 14, 2013 I mix it with another Protein drink, but it tastes no different than the Special K by itself. Film? Not in my mouth if that's what you mean. In the blender it clumps a little on the walls and I just shake and blend one more time.

And I didn't like it. But when mixed with food, I don't notice it. I sometimes put 2 big scoops of whey Protein isolate in with a can of refried Beans and add that mixture to my taco chicken recipe.
