Put a 2x4 under the box spring at the head of your bed. Cut it to width of your bed. Gravity will help keep fluids going down hill!

My doctor just recommended me something similar to that!

Hey guys! I messaged me doctor regarding this issue and this is what he replied...

Its reflux. I would try using two pillows to sleep or sleeping on your belly. As you lose weight and time goes by it should improve. If its not improving come see me.

You van uae phnergan for nausea as needed.

I love that my doctor has Facebook, lol. So I'm sleeping with 2 pillows tonight and I'm hoping to not wake up with neck pain. Has anyone ever used phenergan?

I do take a sip here and there while I eat, just habit I guess. I can't wait for this morning feeling to be over! I'm a teacher and right now I'm at the nurses office because I think I ate too fast. I feel like I'm never going to be normal again and I'm already 2 months op!

you will but we have a "new normal" now. Eating like we did presurgery is no more unless you want to undo everything you have done so far. I do know people that have done just that. learning how to deal with the new tummy is jus that, a learning experience. Small amounts and so very slow. That has been hard for me because I am a teacher too. You know as teachers, we are skilled with eating a whole meal in 8min between duty and before the bell rings lol so slowing down has been a challenge. :) one thing I have learned it to eat a small bit of something when I take those gosh aweful Vitamins. lol I didnt and thats the only two times I have been physically sick. Hang in there. it will get better. Elevate you upper body and that should help. Dont drink when you eat and dont eat late. good luck :)

I'm extremely grateful to wake up and see another day' date=' but I don't looking forward to the first 15 minutes of what has become my morning routine. Every morning I wake up gagging and throwing up a white foam. Most of the time it's multiple burps. I contacted my doctor and he told me to stop eating dinner late, I eat my dinner by 6 pm at the latest and its still happening. Can I please get some advice? Does this happen to everyone? How can I make this stop? And no I'm not pregnant :)[/quote']

I was having that problem and it had to do with the acid in my stomach! If your stomach doesnt have enough acid to its liking it will foam to the top like a volcano eruption like so I called the doctor and she said to drink some pickle juice and I can say I dnt have that problem anymore! So try that and goodluck hope u feel better!

Great I hope it works for you like it did for me!

I just drank my pickle juice! Hopefully I wake up better. Is there a specific pickle juice you drank? How much did you drink?

My RNY was 11.13.17..... I've been coughing, gagging & vomiting this White Foam that everyone is talking about here. I didn't sleep at all last night & gagged all the way (20 miles) to our Dentist this AM for our cleanings, which I didn't think would be possible! Thank goodness my hygienist let me control the suction machine.......wish I had one of these at home!!!! Again....all the way home, I was gagging & continuing all this. I don't know how much more I can handle.

Thanks to everyone who posted what helped them..... I will be surely trying each/all of them!

Happy New Year to all!!!!! ................. Deeme in WI

I bought my hubby a GERD pillow on Amazon. Its just a wedge that keeps you elevated and you put your own pillow right on top. He hasn't had anymore gagging since sleeping elevated.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
