Amie 90 Posted March 13, 2013 So I went to look into taking Karate classes yesterday and they told me I could come in today for a free class to see if I like it. I'm a little worried that I'm not healed enough and should wait a week or 2. The class is 1 1/2 hours long. I sometimes having achy ab mussels when I go for walks or do the elliptical. My surgeon hasn't given me any restrictions, he leaves it up to me to decide when I'm ready to exercise and go back to work because I have a physical job. I have a hard time making myself walk for exercise it's to boring. My wife thinks I should go and do what I can, but I don't think I would be able to bail out halfway through. My chiropractor told me not to do it that I should focus on healing. I really want to go and feel like a quitter if I don't go but also know I can always go in a week or two. I would love to get some opinions on what you all think.
ISleevedIt 380 Posted March 13, 2013 I vote that you wait til you're fully healed....don't stress the body unnecessarily...it just went thru major surgery

Pepper Paul 143 Posted March 14, 2013 It's all fun and games until you get a leak because you pushed yourself too hard. Wait a couple weeks to make sure you're fully healed. It will be a whole lot better than having to take it easy for another couple months trying to heal from a leak. That being said, I completely understand where you're coming from. I want to get back on my bike and ride, and it is going to be a challenge to wait the 6 weeks my doctor said I should wait.
