tammy4041 0 Posted March 13, 2013 I've only lost 5 pounds I read you should wait 2 weeks to weigh yourself since you are pumped up with the IV fluids.
Holly5.3 423 Posted March 13, 2013 Not to worry, the weight will come off-you'll see! After surgery there is Fluid retention and swelling. After the second week you'll start seeing the scale move fast! Depending on your BMI at the start, your weekly loss will vary. I started at 255 and my average loss from surgery (Oct) was 12 pounds s month until Jan. Then I only lost 5 and then 7 from Feb to March. Even though the pounds lost are fewer, they carry a bigger bang for my buck as far as inches and whole body shrinking. You'll do great-the post-op diet and the restrictive nature of a smaller tummy make it almost impossible to not do great the first 6 months. Good luck! Notsobigmum 3 Posted March 13, 2013 Hi, On Day 4 post op I weighed myself and gasped - I'd gained 3lbs then realized that gas, fluids etc had all contributed to this gain. My belly looked twice the size before I went in and was black, blue and very sore. Today am 10 days post op. weighed myself and had lost 7lbs. Belly is still bigger than when I went in but definitely has reduced in size. Felt so much better on day 7 when they removed the drain. God that was a pain. Feeling good, walking 2.5 each day and happy now that I can see results. My only issue is the Protein - every supplement seems to taste horrible. have you found one that you can add to broth etc that doesn't taste hideous? Cheers and best,
