Yes! It took a while but yes you will be able to take bigger sips, I can take bigger sips but not as big as before . Once I chuged down Water on accident like 3 big ones and freaked out but was fine :) little discomfort but was fine. I dont chug because Im scared to stretch the pouch, Not sure if thats possible:)

I guess I'm lucky 9 days out and no problems drinking Water at all, I drank 16 oz in about 15 minutes with out a problem. Over all I have done very well for the past 3 days I exercised on an elliptical for 45 minutes per day. And I have no pain, no nausea, and have been able to eat my cream diet without any problem.

Yay!!

Same here lol' I'm only 6 days post op. I've never had issues with drinking. I was worried something was wrong with me because so many others are struggling. I also feel great I just done 30 mins on the treadmill!

I struggled drinking too, and I remember worrying that if I fell off a boat or a tube, I wouldn't be able to handle all of the Water going in my mouth.

Within a few months, I was able to drink normally. I am 19 months out, and I wouldn't have a problem falling off a boat (and I have done it and ended up drinking a bunch of lake water).

3 Weeks post op, if I drink too quickly, I get an odd pain in my neck, and have to sit a second to let it all go down. But if I take small drinks, I can "chug" sips all day long. My hardest issue right now is just waiting 30 minutes after eating to drink, ha.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
