Seems like what doesn't have fat has sugar and what doesn't have sugar has artificial sweeteners..... And I recently read an article that said that artificial sweeteners raise your blood sugar just like sugar. Unfair!!!!!

I'm sure it does have bad things for you, like everything else. But now we eat so much less...it should not be too bad I wouldn't think.

I have not had any of the FF cool whip, but my Dad eats it with everything!!! He uses is to sweeten and cream up his oatmeal ( I know...silly man!!). My only word of caution on any of the diet things is watch the sugar alcohols, talk about tummy distress!!! They can blow you up like a balloon!!! The word "gas" does not even begin to cover it!!!

It's artificial EVERYTHING!! Even though it says zero on calories & carbs, I stay away from it because it's just fake food. I'd rather have a dollop of real cream. :girl_hug:

I would definitely try it but here in Czech the problem is we dont get so many fat free or sugar free stuff.Sure we have some yougurts, milk, pepsi and regular stuff but almost nothung else...no sugarfree sweets (mabye just a couple of them) .I guess the weight loss business isnt that big here but I would be thankful for having a better choice...

They also make sugar free cool whip, it only had 2 or 3 grams of fat per serving in it... everything else is zero.

So, you can do no fat -- small amount of sugar.

OR

No sugar... small amount of fat...

We dont have it here, but I know what it is and I wouldnt eat something like that. I'd rather do the damage with the real thing, or better yet, eat some fruit or something nutritious. I have the horrors over that sort of artificial food.< /p>

I'm afraid of it because it is so addictive to me. It was hard to get off sugar and white flour (er, mostly). Hard to get off Diet Coke. Hard to get off artificial sweeteners. Hard to stop believing TV food ads. I'm not going back.....

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
