Anyone get denied by insurance for gaining a few lbs?

Recommended Posts

I have Tufts insurance and was told I didn't have to lose any weight prior to surgery. I gained about 10lbs between Oct and Feb bc of the holidays. When I saw the np for a follow up in Feb she said she wants me to lose the 10lbs by the end of March bc she doesn't want insurance to deny me. I've lost 5lbs so far and am so nervous that I could be denied over a few lbs. Has anyone had this issue before??

They told me I had a chance of getting denied if I gained, but I don't know if I would have because I was down when I sent everything in to my insurance. Good luck.

I would think that maybe a weight gain of 10 or more lbs could trigger a denial, but a persons body weight usually shifts by a few pounds up or down, and for a woman especially. maybe they just don't want to give the insurer any reason at all to deny coverage? Best of Luck to you!

Thanks. I'm trying like hell to drop the last 5lbs. If anyone has any suggestions I'd love to hear them! I've been drinking TONS of Water every day and cut all alcohol and junk out. Maybe I should try slim fast?

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
