Sleeve and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

Recommended Posts

Ive had Chronic Fatigue for sometime and it's wierd I will have times where I feel ok my energy is alright then I go for weeks at a time where I literally have to force my butt out of bed in the morning. Thank God im on my feet all day long at work if I sat down i'd not get back up. I had surgery on 2/19 I am hoping that all the Protein I will be eating will help with the tiredness. I have no idea how much protein I ate prior to surgery but im thinking positive. Also I would like to get into a gym as soon as my surgeon clears me for it.

If you find out any secrets that help you please let me know I'd love to have things to try. :}

I didn't have CFS but did suffer with glandular fever 2 months post op. I was suffering from extreme fatigue for about 3-4months. If you're not moving, don't eat. Simple. I was forcing myself up and to work after 1 month bed rest. I had my best weight loss during that period.

Mine is horrible. I get up for work exhausted. My lunch time the pain .and fatigue are full on. When I get off of work I have to take pain meds

Then struggle to stay awake for an hour to spend time with my family. I go to bed at 7:00 or 8:00. Most weekends I don't leave the house because I am so tired. I am praying this surgery will help!

      I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

      Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
      1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

        All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

      I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
