Rycherchick 147 Posted March 11, 2013 After almost 6 weeks post op, I finally felt the restriction and oh boy is it uncomfortable. I microwaved one of those Hormel pot roasts and made some mashed tators. I took 1/4 cup of tators plus a tiny chunk of beef and sat down with a mag to eat, not paying attemtion to my signals and before you know it I had eaten all of it. Crap, now I know what it feels like, my chest hurts and I have a headache. Crap what have I done? Remedies? Should I lie down? DumbRycherchick
joatsaint 2,814 Posted March 11, 2013 I just ride it out. Drinking only makes it worse for me. In about 20 minutes, I feel better. Walking might help.
SMO 193 Posted March 11, 2013 It should pass pretty quickly. 15 minutes max. If you haven't thrown up already, you will just have that pain for a bit. I learned that lesson, too.
bethxxx 304 Posted March 11, 2013 Ohh I have done this!! Walking will help a bit but it will go away soon. It sucks but we really have to pay attention when we eat haha
boatdays 18 Posted March 11, 2013 Yes- just give your body time. 15-20mins usually is enough, on occasion it has made me throw up. It's definitely a learning process. Hang in there- it will pass.
