Is it normal to get about 3 oz of full liquid. (Yogurt or soup) in about 20-25 min??? I feel like 2 oz is not enough and 3 is just right.. I am 6 days out..I hope I am not stretching my sleeve...it seems impossible to get 48-64 oz of anything in all day..I start at 6 am and go til 9 pm and still fall short..HELP!!! Lol..thanks

I didn't worry about how much Water or food I was taking in during the 1st and 2nd week. My sleeve was still swollen and there wasn't much room. I was eating about 1/2 popsicle and whatever Water I could take in per day, the 1st week. On the 2nd week, I was eating about 1/2 can of Cream of Mushroom Soup per day and whatever water I could take in. It wasn't till about week 4 that I was able to get in the recommended daily Protein and water.

Keep pimpin that sleeve!

I'm 12 days out. I have no problem getting Water (with crystal light) down. In fact, you've got me worrying that I'm drinking too much. With the Protein Drink, I have to take a bit more time.

I was sleeved the same day. I think that sounds about right. I was using the 1 oz cups till yesterday. They say 1 oz per 15 min so if you can do 2-3 that is great. I am doing probably 5-6 oz per hour. I always have Water and Protein. Sip of Water, sip of Protein and so on.

I think as long as it doesn't hurt or make me to gassy, the more protein the faster the healing. I was commenting to my hubby this morning that I think my inside is healing faster than with the c-sections because of the protein. I can get in and out of bed almost normally and this morning blew my nose like normal. That didn't happen 5 days out with the c-sections.

Perhaps the Docs are not BS ing us on the whole protein thing? :D

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
