flouroscope

Can anyone tell me how a flouroscope is done? Is it like a simple x-ray? Do you have to drink anything? :)

Thanks!

The fluorscope my doctor uses is a large standup device that you step up to, get in postion, and they can look at your innards. no clamps, no pokey things and you get to keep your clothes on. Yes, you do drink something; less than an ounce of barium which is a contrast element that lets the doc see exactly what happens when you swallow and see if there are any restrictions or reflux. My doc uses one for every fill.

Hope this helps.

When I have the fluro I just lay on a table with my clothes and jewelry on and this machine that point it over my stomach and I don't drink anything. Then you can plainly see my band, tubing and port and he just pokes the needle in my port and in 10 sec. it's done.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
