EweLewz 107 Posted March 18, 2013 Do you have a goal set for yourself? A date you'd like to hit that goal? I turn 50 in May of 2014. I set a target to hit my goal weight by that date. That's about 59 weeks from now to lose another 95 lbs. Based on what others have done, that's a very conservative target... so I won't disappoint myself with stalls throughout. I suggest you do something similar. I created a spreadsheet to set a weekly target weight and spread it out between now and target date. I suspect that my weight between now and then will go above and below my target line... but I'm treating that like the stock market. There will be ups and downs along the way, but the long term direction will be down. I'm in the midwest, and as soon as the weather turns, I'll be getting on my bike and riding. I hope to get in 750 miles this summer. It's the only exercise I really enjoy. I purchased my bike a few years ago and didn't skimp. Got myself a real nice hybrid bike that fits me like a glove and is very comfortable for me to ride. Don't worry folks.... just follow what your surgeon says and you'll do well long-term. Actually yes, I am aiming to hit my goal weight (200 lbs) before New Years Day. That's approx 100lbs in nine months. Understanding that 10 lbs a month is realistic, I should be able to accomplish it, now that I am mixing in bike riding. Per my doctor, I should lose approx 50 lbs by 4/1. I'm down 30 lbs now, with two weeks to go. That is a stretch. After the first month of heavy weight loss, "sleevers" typically lose on average of 2.5 lbs a week, or 10 lbs a month. Ironically, I turn 50 in June.
Debi Lee 4 Posted March 18, 2013 My hubby bought me a recumbent bike after my knee surgery since I was so heavy walking would have been tough on it. I did walk after surgery (2/13) but now I've been released to ride my bike, which I absolutely love. I live in Florida so it can get terribly hot to ride, plus there is really no where to ride in my neighborhood. I would encourage anyone that can to get a bike, be it recumbent or other. laziepandabear 7 Posted March 18, 2013 Folks' date=' I wouldn't adjust your diet at this point simply because you're at a stall. Stalls are normal. It's your body adjusting to your new weight. I bet during stalls if you measured inches instead of weight, that's where you'd see a change. Just don't worry and keep doing what you're supposed to do and the weight will come off. Again, You'll hit a few stalls during your weight loss journey. It's normal.[/quote'] Having just went through the stall i agree. I was still losing inches so i put the scale away and put my food journal up and ate when needed too. Two weeks later im over the stall hump and on my way but when i kept thinking about it i was going crazy so relax

lillatinmomie 62 Posted March 18, 2013 My surgery was 2/6 and I weighed 263 as if today I weigh 237. That's 26 pounds lost since surgery. I have stalled these last two weeks, but I expected that with all the information I get from these threads.
