feb 2013 sleevers weigh in

Recommended Posts

Sleeved 2/4: 42.6 total

Starting weight/highest weight: 315

Surgery weight: 294

1 month: 276

Today: 272.4

I slowed way down and even gained one week. It started to pick back up the last 3 days.

Right now I am 7.5 pounds from my surgeons goal of 30% loss by May.

I was sleeved on 2/26. Down 30lbs including preop. Lost 16 lbs on liquid diet. Having a hard time getting in Water and Protein. Hopefully I will figure out what I need to do to kick this WL into high gear.

Good for you! We are on the same schedule! My surgery was 2/26 also and I am down 28 total in 30 days. 18 pre op and 10 post op. tomorrow will be two weeks since surgery. What a journey! Keep it up!

Sleeved 2/25. Total loss for four weeks (including two week pre-op diet) = 26 pounds.

I had to do a six month supervosed diet before the surgery (required by my insurance), during which I lost 106 pounds. So, seven month total = 132 pounds. Starting weight: 474. Current weight: 342.

Thanks and great job to you also. I have started to walk and am doing better today with Water and Protein. So hopefully the weight will start moving again.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
