feb 2013 sleevers weigh in

Recommended Posts

I must be a slow loser but I haven't done any workouts of any kind... so 10 pounds... for the first month doesn't seem good at all. Any advice would be appreciated thanks dears. And I totally forgot about me one week check up to add that so down 18pounds and 20 on pree op diet.. fun fun.

I'm at almost 3 weeks and have only lost 10lbs, 8lbs in week 1, .5lbs in week 2 and looks like it might be 1.5lbs in week 3 but I don't weight in until Tuesday, I think our bodies are still adjusting to the newness. I hope it gets better for you. I guess my only advice would be is to try and get a few workouts in. I'm having a hard time with that one as well.

I was sleeved on 2/26. Down 30lbs including preop. Lost 16 lbs on liquid diet. Having a hard time getting in Water and Protein. Hopefully I will figure out what I need to do to kick this WL into high gear.

Sleeved on 2/5, including pre-op I have lost 45 lbs. Probably 25 lbs since surgery although it has tapered off the last couple of weeks. Last week I lost 2 lbs. starting exercise regimen today and hopefully the couch to 5 k program. I would appreciate any tips on how to get the most from this wonderful 'tool' especially any diet tips to help melt more off. Thanks!

Sleeved 2/21 and down 21.5lbs since surgery. Seems like I'm stalling now but I expected that. Just work on getting in all of your Water. I think this is most important in aiding with the weight loss. Also I haven't been cleared for the gym yet but I walk the track for 30-45 minutes a day to get some movement in and it helps...not too mention I want these thighs to go down...lol...Good luck!

Sleeved 2/21 and down about 25 pounds. But, that is 15 pre-op and 10 post-op. I haven't done any exercise. I go this afternoon for my 2 week post op appointment with my doctor. I guess I will find out then what I can do exercise wise. I too have trouble with Protein. I cannot do the shakes. I get my protein through eggs, Peanut Butter, yogurt. I have tried all the different Protein Shakes. Makes me want to vomit just thinking about them. Kudos to the sleevers that can drink them. Good luck to everyone!!

Sleeved 2-25. Down 24 total. 16 pre op and 8 since surgery. I'm a little discouraged with only 8 lbs in 2 weeks. I will admit that I'm having trouble getting all if my required calories and Protein in.

Sleeved 2/25 down 25.6 11 of them pre-op. I lost 12.4 my first week post op but only lost 2.2 this week. I am a little disappointed not sure why not more.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
