Harpo 30 Posted March 11, 2013 Do I need to purée EVERYTHING? Cottage cheese? Scrambled eggs? Mashed Potatoes? Shaved Ham? I'd love some recipes of some decent food.< /p>
Threetimesacharm 1,400 Posted March 11, 2013 Yes, yes, yes, yes and yes. Get yourself a mini chopper and puree your food in it. I liked scrambled egg, cottage cheese, canned meats chicken/turkey/ham or even corned beef. Chili would be good too.
Pinky Green 260 Posted March 11, 2013 I don't really know, but to tell you the truth, I didn't bring myself to puree anything. I ate soft stuff and I chewed it twenty or more times. I had all those things except the shaved ham. I also had Campbell's chicken Noodle Soup. My doctor said I could have it, but expected me to blenderize it and I was not about to. Just chewed it to mush before I swallowed it. I made my mouth the blender. It was fine.
Gin1120 21 Posted March 11, 2013 I was never on a puréed diet, just soft foods. It's amazing how different doctors are.

NewKristen 356 Posted March 11, 2013 My stage 3 was "puréed or mushy". So I stuck with mushy. Cottage cheese was mushy, so I didn't have to do anything else to it. I did food process chicken, and other meats. It made it more like the texture in a chicken salad or pulled pork. I then took small bites and chewed a lot. I am now 6 weeks out and eating reg foods. wcn1970 239 Posted March 11, 2013 I bought the bullet blender. Thing is awesome. I am in the puréed stage as well. I cook normal for the family then take some and put it through the bullet blender. Taco meat, Beans and salsa, AWESOME. slow cooker meat, carrots and a small potatoe. Both me and the baby ate that with smiles. Made home made low fat pot pie for the family so I took the veggies, meat and low fat gravy and blended. Was really good over a table spoon if mashed potatoes. I have also been roasting cauliflower and blending that with minced garlic, butter and a little broth. Love it!! My kids think that is what mashed potatoes are. Do what the dr. Says and follow the diet. Not worth any chances. Chewing is not puréed. If it were they would tell you to do that. You just had most of your stomach removed. Don't be lazy with the healing diet. 1 adoptmom2_3 reacted to this
JonB 114 Posted March 11, 2013 I ate a lot of canned tuna or chicken with low fat mayo, put through the blender. Also cottage cheese blended with a little vanilla extract, cinnamon and Equal.
vs24 25 Posted March 11, 2013 Not sure why you'd need to blend cottage cheese (small curd). Cottage cheese was on my phase II diet and all I had to do was mash it a bit with my fork. While I still do that, I do it less and less.
