Mapmyrun or similar app?

Recommended Posts

I'm looking at mapmyrun for distance/ route mapping. Has anyone used it or have something they really like (in an app)? I don't want to buy a fancy watch or monitoring system, just something for my phone.

Thanks All!

I use both map my run and Endomondo and love them both. Hence why I am always switching back and forth between the two.

I started with Nike+ but found it to be quite limited in capabilities. I now use Endomondo and like all the feedback, especially ascent and descent data. I wonder what the premium version has.

I've been using mapmyrun for years. I recently started using Endomondo as well for my trail riding as it appears to be more accurate for biking. I also like mapmyrun on the laptop because if I forget to record a walk, I can go back and manually add it by routing it myself.

I started out using RunKeeper....then tried SEVERAL others including (map my run, nike+, iSmoothRun...just to name a few). I came full circle back to RunKeeper. I think it has the best interface and I love that I can enter and edit my activities (including the maps) on the RunKeeper website. Several apps also sync with RunKeeper.

I use RunKeeper along with GYMPACT, it's fun! And you get paid to workout! Lol not much usually like 25-50 cents for me. Better than nothin :)

I'm a little past the middle of c25k myself. I've just ventured outside (off the treadmill) and am looking for something that will help me track my distance when running outside. I found an online site that I was able to map out the distance I ran last Saturday (just over 2 miles if it's accurate). I'm also a myfitnesspal user and want to stick with that program because I'm used to it.

Thanks all for the recommendations!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
