January sleevers......what's your weight loss so far?

Recommended Posts

Sleeved Jan 11th... down 63 lbs... seem to be slowing down a bit. The most important thing is that I am off all my diabetic meds. I have eliminated 7 pills. Plus no more insulin shots!!

Good stuff. Losing weight is great but getting our lives back is better.

January 21 surgery

Down -47

We are almost exactly the same weight loss so far!!! Do you have alot more to go before goal? I still have 28 pounds to my surgeons goal. Hoping to lose more than my surgeons goal but was so happy to go below 170. Haven't seen that on the scales in more than 10 years.

You and I are almost identical for post surgery loss. I've also lost 38lbs and was sleeved 1/9. I started out at 268 but lost 40lbs before surgery so I'm sitting at 190 right now. Been stalled for about 2 weeks till yesterday. Finally started to see a little bit of a loss. I seem to be eating less than I could eat a month ago. Like my sleeve has decided to be finicky. As long as I see some movement though I'm happy. Stalls are tough. I agree' date=' though. Maybe time to start cracking down on the carbs.[/quote']

I was also sleeved on 1-9-13 and I have lost from 289 to 270 before surgery and from 270 to 220 since surgery. 50 lbs after surgery.70 total I started out weighing more than you. I think your doing great. I have been not following some of rules and not writing down what I eat and I do not get in enough Protein lately. I've been really sick twice ( maybe that's why I lost a little more and it was not worth it!) so I am going back to tracking and working harder on getting more Protein. Anyway I think we are all doing well and the health benefits outweigh everything else!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
