I had my surgery almost 10 months ago. Will be on the 16th. When I started my journey I weighed 390 pounds. When I weighed in yesterday, 245 pounds!!! I feel amazing! I never thought I would ever be back to this size. It is wonderful to go into a normal store( like Walmart) and buy clothes off the rack. I used to buy through a magazine. I still lose about 2 pounds a week.

I am very proud. It will happen and come off but it isn't easy. Watching my friends and family go places that I can't eat at, is more challenging farther out. I have learned to say "no" going through a fast food line. I thought, about 2 months ago, that I would just order some chicken nuggets, how bad could it be? Well it can be bad. I got sick and it was very painful digesting. I don't do that anymore. Lol.

Congrats, this is awesome! You should be proud, you have worked very hard to get where you are.

I think most of us test the waters at some point to see what we can handle, and what we just can't tolerate. For me greasy fried foods don't sit well (which is good thing for me) so I'm not tempted anymore.

Keep up the good work, and thanks for sharing :)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
