aroseofbeauty 7 Posted April 1, 2013 Well I recently had to get an ultrasound and it appears I have gallstones. So now I have to meet with my suregon to see how to proceed aka...surgery. They really should tell u or put it in a brochure that ur risk for gallstones increases with weight loss surgery.

bmbrush413 124 Posted April 1, 2013 I'm surprised they didn't tell you about the increased risk - since I still have my gallbladder I have to be on medication to prevent gallstones for the first 6 months. I'm also on an acid reducer (but already was).
nanaspez 58 Posted April 2, 2013 My doctor put me on Unsdiol 300mg 2x a day to help prevent the gallstones. Been on it since surgery. Also, I became lactose intolerant, stopped diary but continued with stomach problems, turned out the Protein Powder I was drinking had milk. Hope you are feeling better soon
