kylea 10 Posted March 9, 2013 My doctor sets us on a 2 shakes and 1 meal a day at two months for the first year. Better success he says and were gonna have lots of choices to make so lets really work on the discipline the first year
Iniysa 157 Posted March 9, 2013 My doctor does not want us to have shakes at all. LOL! I'm a vegetarian, I may need to drink the shakes secretly. Every doc is different.
JonB 114 Posted March 9, 2013 My doc says Protein ONLY - meat, fish, eggs, cheese - 4 ounces per meal - for the first three months post-surgery. Then I can add 1 veggie per day, then after another three months, one fruit, then one starch.
SMO 193 Posted March 9, 2013 Yep. Every doc is different. Mine says from the day after surgery for 2 weeks, limited liquids and then 2 weeks to 3 months, softs including at least 60 grams Protein but excluding raw veggies, fruit skins, corn, nuts and seeds. At 3 months, anything goes but protein first, always. I asked my nut about carbs (I am 33 days out) and she said less than 40. I am eating between 400 and 600 calories a day and 60 to 75 grams protein a day with 15 to 25 grams carbs.
