cindysc 108 Posted March 8, 2013 Okay I am not all that tech savy. I am wondering what the best way of communicating with my family back here in states while I am in Mexico having surgery. I have an iPhone. I am wondering if as long as I have wifi will it be free to text my husband who also has iPhone. Or we both have a what's up app. I have a netbook but don't really wanna bring it unless its better to use it. If I just use my phone can I disable it to where people can't call me and rack up a huge phone bill. So what's the best way to stay in touch with home? Ms.AntiBand 2,984 Posted March 8, 2013 We have sprint and it sucked! I sent texts and people didn't get them until I crossed back over border. And then I got a gazillion texts that were waiting for me. I communicated online with my iPad and that was fine with my family.

Plus I didn't tell anyone but my household so I don't want to take any calls till I get home lol. Just make sure after you put in airplane mode you activate wifi
