I agree with the poster who said to find the NSVs. The scale hasn't moved in days for me. It sucks. However' date=' I've had 3 NSV this past week! Today, I went back to work and had two people ask me if I had lost weight, which is related to my second NSV. When I looked in the mirror today, I did a double take! My double chin is rapidly disappearing, it's the reason everyone is noticing my weight loss, it's all in my face (yeah, I wish it was my butt and gut but I'll take it!). Finally, hubby got on the scale on Monday and I weight less than him!! Yeah me! Find your NSVs, they are there![/quote']

What's an NSV?

When I started this journey, I thought I would be a slow loser as well. So I set a plan on what I would eat, even tho I knew my stomach would be smaller. I decided to eat mostly Protein, and cut most all carbs out no Pasta, rice, bread and no Desserts, candy, chips etc. I also made a decision to eat 6 small meals a day, again of mostly Proteins. I love to eat, and am happier when I do eat, so the 6 meals helps me curb the hunger. For me cutting out the carbs has really helped in my weight loss, I have lost 40 pounds in two months. I do feel if I did not cut the carbs out I would not have been able to loss as I did. Its a strange thing, even with my stomach as small as is, It can really handle anything, so I watch everything and use the app "loss it" which counts my calories, proteins and carbs daily. It really helps me figure out my day.. And I don't get on the scale every day, maybe once or twice a month. I think my making your own plan on which foods to intake it might help. And protein is so important, esp dense protein as it fills you up so much more than carbs. If you want I can post my daily food choices.. Don't give up, it will happen..

Thanks for the advice. I have been eating some mash potatoes and cheesy potatoes but it has only been a tablespoon. I was hoping since this was so little that it wouldn't matter. I will stop eating the carbs. I am eating mostly Protein. I have eggs, chicken, turkey, shrimp. These have been mixed with light mayo and pureed. I am now off pureed foods as long as I chew everything really well. For dinner I am having some ground beef with spaghetti sauce. It is probably about 2-3 tablespoons and that is it till my snack which usually consists of canned pears, peaches, or Greek yogurt.

I have a really hard time moving my bowels and I need to take laxatives. The only time I seem to lose weight is after I go. I got on the scale this morning and was down 3 lbs. which I was really happy about. But I am afraid I will just put it back on again. I am trying not to be negative and am working on a more positive attitude.

I do have to put the scale away and only weigh myself once a week. Travel Guru I would love it if you would post what you eat. This would help. I think I am in a rut. It seems like I eat the same things over and over again.

I'm afraid you're really hurting your weight loss with the canned fruit even if it's in it's own juices it's still a lot of simple carbohydrates. I am trying to keep my carbs less than 30... With the new sleeve maybe I should keep it even lower

Keep doing all the right stuff - get your Water in and do your best to get your Protein in Your body needs to play catch up :). You will get there ... I promise! Some lose slow and some lose fast but EVERYONE loses Have faith

omgoodness Michelle me too. exactly the same. feb 11th. lost 14 and nothing in 2 weeks!! this is crazy. what on earth is going on

I was sleeved on Feb 11 also and I haven't lost anything for almost 2 weeks. I haven't been quiet my surgery and people have said they can see my body changing. I keep trying to tell myself that. Also I'll be off my blood pressure drugs in about 3 weeks. That was one if my reason I did the surgery. I figure this is just a bump in the road. We can all get through :-)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
