I am in the process of getting sleeved in may or June. Havent started the pre diet yet, I have heard from some sleevers that sometimes depression sets in after surgery because you can't eat all the things you loved. Any truth to this?

It can be if you let it. You can eat the same things just in proportion to the size of your stomach! I was depressed for about a good three weeks. But not cause of the food. It had to do with me and why I had to get the surgery but 5 months out and I feel great! Things will get back to normal and that's a good thing!

I was the same as Marto. Felt flat for 3 weeks, was it depression? Not sure, but I wasn't myself.

For me I think it was facing my food demons and why I over eat, more than missing food or volume eating.

That temporary black dog feeling is well and truly gone now.

I admit I was depressed too, but not because of the food. It was because I was angry with myself for getting in the position that I would need to have surgery because of my selfishness with food. It only lasted about 3 weeks. And thankfully I have a wonderfully supportive husband and friends to get me through it.

Those are normal feelings. You've come this far and you won't regret it. Keep your eyes on the bigger picture. :)

I was flying high on life after mine! I wanted nothing more than to have this done and be healthy. I started feeling amazing right away and even though I was a food addict I was so sick of being a pig and a slug. My surgery renewed me and I still feel blessed to continue my new life

In my case, I personally have not been depressed. I'm in a good place in my life and i hope to stay there, god willing.
