bubles089 35 Posted March 8, 2013 So I have been having abdominal pain lately so I saw my dr for my 6 month post op apt. They are sending me for a hida scan and an ultrasound on Tuesday. I sooo don't want another surgery. I did not tolerate the surgical part of my sleeve. How bad is the surgery??
Roserie 302 Posted March 8, 2013 Not bad. It's laparoscopic surgery so you'll have 4 small scars from it. I had to stay in the hospital for a day after I had surgery but it wasn't all that bad. I did overdo it when I got home lifting my 3mth old since I'm a SAHM and wound up causing more pain for myself but all in all it wasn't bad. It definitely beats having gallbladder attacks. Chris R 217 Posted March 8, 2013 I had my gall bladder out in 1994, 9 months after my oldest was born, and almost 19 years before my sleeve. I found the gall bladder surgery a breeze - didn't have trouble with pain, didn't even take the pain meds the nurses kept offering. Felt back to normal in 2 days. The sleeve was more painful for me - not horrible, but I still was having incision pain 3 weeks out. Oh - and the surgery was MUCH less painful than gallbladder attacks!! Territravel 217 Posted March 8, 2013 It really wasn't bad.I was able to leave the hospital four hrs after the surgery. It completely took away my appetite. Good news, I lost ten pounds in about a week and a half. My sleeve became a very picky eater for the first couple of months. Now between the small scars from VSG and gallbladder surgery, you can play connect the dots on my tummy.
