Weird "stuck" feeling going on right now

Recommended Posts

I don't know if I'm getting a sore throat or what's going on but my throat hurts a little bit but it's more so in my chest. No Pain at all. just this weird stuck feeling like i just ate something too fast but all i had today was a Boost and a Chobani Yogurt and lots of Water. Plus my Vitamins. So i don't know what it could be. Earlier this morning while i was showering I had a bad case of the Hiccups. but other than that, nothing out of the ordinary. I'm confused and and nervous per usual.

anyone else experience this feeling before? Like you need to burp something up or perhaps even vomit?

I have had that feeling when I eat / drink too fast or too much. Unfortunately, it usually results in me vomiting.

I've had that before. I think for me it's drinking too fast. I usually sit up as straight as I can and take a deep breath and it feels like it goes down. That's what works for me.i just have to remind myself not to drink so fast! :)

I have to agree with nsquared and MrsG. Take your time when drinking, when I have done this too fast that feeling stops me dead in my tracks. I have been trying hard to get in my fluids so I start rushing, not a good feeling.

Sometimes drinking too much Water will cause this stuck feeling in chest or left shoulder pains.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
