christy38 17 Posted March 8, 2013 Having my first pulimonary consult and wondering what kind of tests they going to run on me. Can anyone tell me what to expect?
taylokat 180 Posted March 8, 2013 For me, they did a pulmonary function test, which is just this machine you breath in and out of, lots of forceful exhales. They also set an appointment for a sleep apnea exam which I needed because I had no other co-morbidities like high Blood Pressure, diabetes or high cholesterol. LI Gemini NY 607 Posted March 8, 2013 I also need a PFT (pulmonary function test) and clearance but I didn't schedule that yet. Let me know how it goes if you get it done soon...
Jerrikoe68 5 Posted March 9, 2013 I saw the pulmonologist on wednesday. Just did a breathing test and was checked head to toe. He gave me the go ahead so now I'm waiting to see the cariologist for clearance.
Kimmy1813 77 Posted March 9, 2013 I had a PFT (pulmonary function test), chest x-ray and EKG. Then at my pulmonary appointment, he went over the results of my chest x-ray and PFT, then ordered a sleep study to see if I have sleep apnea. He said I was good to go for surgery, he had no concerns. I had to reschedule my cardiologist appointment, due to bad weather, so I will see him this month to go over the EKG and see what he says. patienceshy 3 Posted March 13, 2013 Having my first pulimonary consult and wondering what kind of tests they going to run on me. Can anyone tell me what to expect? Hey Christy how are things going, well the pulmonary test consist of a whole lot of breathing in and out through a hose then they put you in a chamber to see the level of your breathing and they also take blood from your artery in your wrist..not sure if that's how fae they have to go for you but that's what was done for me..keep in touch and I'm still seeing vemulapalli at montefiore ...hope to see you soon as well
