I use my fitness pal on my android phone and my net diary on ipad. I noticed that they both have good dictionaries...but I do like the pro better because I can scan my food in and use the bar code reader. I can also adjust my caloric intake and it had a part where you adjust settings to suit your diet.

MFP lets you do that as well...

Hey Sherrie,

I went through my huge binder of stuff from NUT class and I saw how to calculate my total Cal intake once we are on normal foods (if you can ever call this normal again lol) it actually worked out to exactly what MFP said my daily intake should be.

Female = (10x your current wright in KG) + (6.25 x your height in CM) - (5 x your age) - 161 x your activity factor.

You activity factor is as follows :

1.2 = sedentary (little or no exercise)

1.373 = lightly active (light exercise/sports 1-3 days a week )

1.55 = moderately active (sports 3-5 days a week)

1.725 = very active ( hard exercise/ sports 6-7 days a week)

1.9 = extra active (very hard exercise/sports and physical job)

For Men its (10x your current wright in KG) + (6.25 x your height in CM) - (5 x your age) + 5 x your activity factor.

I figured i have been eating too little and I am hoping that upping my cal intake a little will help break it.

For everyone who keep losing, what cal intake were you at?

Ok everyone I went to my Dr today for my 6 week post opp ck up. All is good!! He asked me how many cal I'm get a day and I tell him around 800. He says that's great! Dont go over 1200 cal a day. Also if I have a stall to go back to my pre opp diet of just Protein Drinks the whole day and then a meal at night. Other than that I'm free to do anything I want. Good luck everyone.

Are you supposed to be avoiding all carbs also, or are good carbs ok?

He never said anything about the carbs. Just keep my Protein up and my calories low. I have no limits now on anything like exercise or food. He just said that when I eat. Like fish with veg. Always start with the protein first. So I guess bread and carbs would always be last. He also said that stuff like sweets would be absorbed immediately. So if I eat sweets don't do it by itself.Because you will store it as fat. Always eat it with something like for desert. That way your body absorbs the good with the bad. So no snacking on a snickers bar.

Is this formula meant to tell you how any calories to maintain? Or to lose?

That was to lose 2lbs a week. I'm just confused on what to keep my cals at. I'm gonna see the nut on tuesday and find out.

I've been in a 3 wk long stall!!! Have tried everything to break it. I was sleeved 3/8/13 and have only lost 17 lbs total. I feel terrible about the scales' date=' but I have lost inches. I've been reassured that the scales WILL eventually move again...can't happen soon enough for me!!! But, today has been a better day, trying to change my mindset <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> everyone says 6 mo from now this will be just a dream....[/quote']

I'm in the same situation. Lost a pound a day for 3 weeks, then got approved by my doctor to go to soft food Protein, and had a 2 week stall, followed by about 5 pounds, now another 2 week stall. But, I have to say, my clothes are all fitting slimmer, and I've been tossing a lot of stuff I was wearing 2 months ago.

My doctor said, "Don't worry, it will all come off." He actually upped me to 1500 calories to help,with my fatigue, and it has really helped. I actually feel like I'm at about 90% of feeling good.

It is really cool to just not be interested in much food. I really do feel like it has been a permanent change.

I took four weeks off from work. I always naped. I am now 6 weeks and I'm back to work fulltime and walking. By 8 pm I am exhausted. I do really well getting in my Protein and fluids.

Boy, that sounds exactly like me. I only took a week off of work, and that was a huge mistake. The first 4 weeks I slept a lot, probably at least two naps per day. Now at 7.5 weeks I feel pretty good most days and I'm constantly on the hunt for tasty edible Protein. I think if I eat another store-bought Protein shake I'll gag.

Anybody out here have guidelines that are working for you with regard to levels of carbs and fat? I use MyFitnessPro every day religiously, and I'm always hitting my Protein goal, but I wonder if I can get better results by mixing up the ratio of carbs and fats. My doctor has put me at a 1500 calorie goal, and a protein goal of 145 grams. Has anyone experimented with any of this?

      Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.
