Hi for me_ it was edg-- or something like that

They lightly sedated me I don't remember it- even tho I was terrified- and the do a scope firm the throat w a camera to see if u have hernias or ulcers or anything-- that's how I found out I had. Hiatal hernia-- I'm post op 2 weeks this next Monday!! Good luck

Upper GI is different than the EGD. An upper GI is an x-ray and you are not sedated for it. Which one are you having? My surgeon required the EGD. An upper GI I have had done in the past and it is an x-ray taken after you drink a barium solution. Neither are fun, but pretty painless.

Barium is so disgusting! I had my Upper Gi today and my stomach still feels gross!
