I cheated

Recommended Posts

:-( .... I cooked my kids something I couldn't resist. So I had a few spoonfuls of yellow rice and a small piece of fish, oh and a tiny margarita (figured I already screwed up) and I am almost 2 weeks post op. I feel horrible, so I had to confess

Walk away! Hit the reset button! I understand the temptation, but if you are 2 weeks post op you are not in the clear yet no matter how good you feel!

GIRL!!! My friend did they same thing and she kept going and going and now she can't lose any weight. She is 9 months post-op and barley 45lbs down. Please no more. Remember this is a sacrafice. your children love you... find a way to make them something you can eat or have a family or friend take them or eat with them or make the food so you won't even have to smell it. Please don't do what my friend did. We are all here to support you. Take another sip of your margarita... taste it well... and don't do it until your cleared for all of that. Remember we are ALL here for you. Good Luck... :D

I'm 8 days post op and I'm guilty too :( I just can't help it I did the chew and spit but this diet is hard I'm in a pretty big Hispanic family and we eat!! So it's hard to smell all the good good and walk away! But I guess it has to be done this liquid diet is pretty blah but it will be worth it in the end but the funny thing is when I did cheat I didn't feel full or get any pain kinda scary

Does a few days really make that much of a difference? I feel like I'm starved. I have no energy to do anything and all I want to do is sleep

I was that way at first. Didn't feel like getting out to walk but it really does help

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
