Been a little depressed cuz I'm having a hard time eating. Everything Sits. So what did I do? Since before my surgery way back in my freezer was little tiny single serve cup of Ben& Jerrys choc fudge Brownie ice cream so I thought, I wanna try it. What a colossal mistake! Too much sugar and its sitting below my esophagus. It was not but 5 spoons full but after 2 I chucked it. Man what a shock to the system. I repent!

Sometimes you just have to push the envelope. Now it is out of your system.

It is good you repented and I hope you are not feeling too miserable. It is amazing to me what very little it takes to fill me and I am only a week out. I just started with runny cream of wheat, yogurt, Soup today and could hardly do anything compared to what I was thinking. That is okay. Learning is going to be a forever journey I have a feeling, but one I am glad to undertake. Thanks for sharing your lesson with us.

Those are the lessons we learn the hard way! I find myself doing stupid stuff and end up throwing it away. So now I love throwing bad foods in the trash.....It was such a hard lesson to learn, I was taught to always finish what I put on my plate and my eyes have always been bigger than my stomach.... LOL Still the same today. Am going back to measuring my foods when eating.... :)

Funny, my eyes are also bigger than my stomach! I love that. I measure everything, and I'm still pleasantly surprised at the small volume I can eat. At first I could eat almost nothing, but now can handle 3-4 oz Protein, so it seems like lots more than it was, but it's way less than it used to be.

OP - you are no dummy! You are smarter than you were before, right? :)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
