Lol, Thanks everyone! So far so good. I had broth for Breakfast and the diet sirerra mist is winning me over as I type. I brought enough clear stuff to feed a small army with me to work. I sent DH out for tonight and my son will make do with spaghetti o's! I'm more ready than anything now. Especially after letting DH take some before pics of me last night. Wow. Talk about motivation! It took awhile but I finally agreed to go "Big Loser" style and let him take them in shorts and a sports bra. Nice wake up call. I wanted to cry when I saw how big I am everywhere. I can't wait to have after pictures to compare. For those who take them, how often do you do so? I was thinking monthly but will I be able to notice a difference in 1 month? Tanks again to all!:cursing:

Hi Julie:

It will go quickly!

I think taking pictures once a month is a great idea. I think it may be hard to see at first, but you may be surprised. Also, after a few months or more, you will really see the progress.

Clothes - I wore a shirt last night that I had worn last October, just before I decided to have the Lapband surgery. My gosh, it is BIG. I have a pic of me from back then and now need a pic of me in it as it fits now. Other than that I have very few pictures of me

Well, I'm home from my surgery. I can't believe it. The pain is minimal but I'm really working at getting all my liquids in. It's such a wierd feeling to realize that after waiting all this time, I finally have the band. Dr. Peters was great and my stay at the hospital went really well. You sure can't sleep very much there. I forgot about the suger free popsicles. I'll have my dh pick some up. Thanks for the reminder.

Caelyn - welcome to bandland....lol. Just remember all that you go through in the beginning is only short term. Pretty soon you will be up and about.

Lynn - you have lost a lot of weight. I bet that shirt was huge! Very cool to see your success like that.

Hi everyone! Well, I'm banded! I came home yesterday after being banded 10/3. Despite some pain and discomfort, I'm feeling good. Not at all hungry! I was in a good deal of pain Friday and yesterday but today I'm up and about more and just uncomfortable. Gas pains are killing me but I've been burping them out quite often. Hope everyone else is doing well! Talk to you soon! Julie :tongue2:

Congratulations, Julie! I'm glad to hear that your surgery went well.

Just keep going one day at a time, and this month will be over before you know it. :)

Is anyone planning to go to this month's meetings at St. Francis? When are they? Thanks! Julie:redface:

Hi Julie:

I did go last night. The meetings for St. Francis are in the office right next to CHRIAS. They have them 2 times a month for pre& post op and I believe once or twice a month for post op only. I can put the schedule up if you want.

I really enjoy going to the meetings. I always learn something and I come out feeling pretty good!

Julie - welcome to band land!

I kind of thought there was one last night but I wasn't sure and then DH decided he needed new work boots so we have to go to east jebip to find a red wing store. Lol. So ended my night. I liked going pre-op and always said I'd go post even if just to answer people's questions. I'll definitely go to them more if you wouldn't mind posting the schedule.

Ok, here's a question. Tomorrow is my 2 week post op check up. What should I expect??? Thanks! Julie

2 weeks post op appointment - I spoke with DR, discussed what I was getting in, how much, if I was hungry or not, any discomfort, what types of liquids and then was told to move to next phase after liquid diet, no fill until next appt that was scheduled about 4 weeks out

Also, weight loss was discussed as well as making sure proper amounts of Protein was being taken in.

Well I had my 2 week post op with Dr.Wynn yesterday. It went very well. She told me I could move to the mushy stage and said I was healing very well. I have my appointment for my first fill in 3 weeks, election day! I feel really good. I've been going on a power walk every morning. Trying to go a little bit farther each day. I hope by moving to the mushy's it will help with my hunger.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
