Delaware 0 Posted July 1, 2008 After Lynn and I were done at the gym today, I realized that it is my 3 month bandiversary tomorrow!!! I cannot express how happy I have been with this process. It also made me happy when I stepped on the scale at the YMCA tonight and was down another 4 lbs! More motivation to watch what I am eating and getting my butt to the gym. Lynn please quote me on this when I say I am too tired to go to the gym tomorrow night!
lynnt1215 1 Posted July 1, 2008 you sound like you are on a good path, if they say you need the CPAP machine for apnea, they usually want you to be on it for at least a month. I lucked out and after 10 days they gave me clearance, but I already had a surgery date..so I guess I was lucky
lynnt1215 1 Posted July 1, 2008 Lisa, you know I ill bug you to get out there and go to the Y or go walking.. and me with my bum shoulder that is all i am good for right now, but some exercise is better than nothing
caelyn 0 Posted July 1, 2008 (edited) Did you notice any differance in how rested you felt after having the cpac? I just feel tired all the time, now. I just got my appointment for my sleep study...it's July 28th!! Edited July 1, 2008 by caelyn
lynnt1215 1 Posted July 1, 2008 I will admit that the short time I actually used the CPAP machine i diod have a more restful sleep. you are not waking up to catch your breath. After losing wiehgt hopefully it is a non issue and you will not longer need it. if it is recommended now after the sleep study
lynnt1215 1 Posted July 3, 2008 Getting an early start on the holiday weekend. A day in Atlantic City. Lisa and I will get our walking in there.... Then a peaceful few days at home.. Hope for another fill, #2 next Thursday, even if just a little "tweak" to help me out. There are time I just want to eat, but then sometime things seem to get stuck. Gotta remember to take smaller bites and chew, chew and chew again!!! ******Happy 4th of July to all ******

hopeinapril 1 Posted July 8, 2008 Hi everyone! How are you all doing! Caelyn, the process seems long, but with all the clearances, it will go quickly. I really like the fact that CHRIAS requires so many clearances. It makes it likely the surgery will go smoothly. I have avoided this website for the past week or so. I am struggling. I admit it. I am having a tough time because right now, it seems like it is all me and very little lapband. I have a fill coming up and am hopeful that it is the "one". I have been examining my relationship with food for the past few months now. I am writing everything down that I eat, even the embarassing stuff. I am hoping that it helps me understand why I eat the way I do. I have notice some things and am trying to correct them. It is odd, as old as I am, that I really don't know how to eat. I am coming to the conclusion (it took me a while) that food is really about feeding my body, not necessarily for what I use it for. I'm still playing with the same few pounds and am hopeful for a fill at my appointment at the end of the month. I finally decided to write about my struggles as I suspect not everyone is having an easy time of it. I hope that my honesty helps someone else. If you are having troubles, you are not alone. lynnt1215 1 Posted July 8, 2008 Hope - sorry you are having so many issues. I know we all hope for the best results with the surgery and how we work the tool afterwards. Cae - the numerous clearances are helpful. For the CHRIAS DR as well as yourself. You can go into the surgery knowing that you are as healthy as possible before you begin the weight loss, lifestyle changes I go on 7/10 for what will be my 2nd fill. I hope. I am eating too much this past week and do not even feel like stopping. As well as I am still eating way too fast..UGH!!!!
caelyn 0 Posted July 9, 2008 I hope everybody is hanging in there. My dh and I just got back from fishing and got caught in a bad storm. We felt like we were in "the deadliest catch"!!! I've been amiss with my swimming lately. I haven't made it over to the Y in over a week. It seems everyday something interfers and that's not good. I have the hardest time keeping exercise as a routine. I really need to make that happen for me. Any suggestions?????
lynnt1215 1 Posted July 9, 2008 caelyn - the best way to keep on an exercise routine is to have an exercise buddy, someone to keep you up and going and "make" you get out there even when you really don't want to. Variety is good too: walking, Water aerobics, swimming.. Seeting aside a block of time for this is also a plus. that way you cannot say to yourself, that you didn't have time
Delaware 0 Posted July 9, 2008 Caelyn. I really believe that obese individuals have a hard time putting themselves first. We do everything for every one else and put ourselves last. With this surgery, I had to promise to put my health first. To make sure that I have time to go to the grocery and to go to the gym. Its a priority. Its more important than a clean house or any tv show etc. So before the surgery, make sure that you are ready for the work and have time to dedicate. It really takes a lot of soul searching. lynnt1215 1 Posted July 9, 2008 hey, what are exercise buddies all about. fun, workout, laugh and succeed..and tomorrow night we will be at it again
caelyn 0 Posted July 9, 2008 Lynn and Delaware....thanks for the good advice. I know what I need to do. I guess I just feel in limbo waiting for October to get here. But.....I am going to the Y today and I will make myself a priority. Tomorrow night a new support group is beginning in Easton, MD for Lapband support. I found it on another website. I'm going to go since it is right in the town where I live. Maybe I can make a connection and get a exercise buddy. I'll keep you all posted!!! :biggrin2:
JULIEM81 0 Posted July 9, 2008 Hello all, I stumbled upon you guys when I typed Irgau into the search box. I've been on here alot but never thought to search for anyone from Chrias! I've been at this since April 24th (my initial consult) and am finished all my clearances and required support groups and classes. Last time I spoke to Misty they have me tentatively scheduled for October 3rd for the surgery. Now I'm just frustrated with the wait. I'm good to go with everything but thanks to my insurance, I'm stuck waiting until October. I've been buying supplies here and there as I find things on sale although as far as the supplements go Sam told us at last night's meeting to wait because apparently the recommendations are changing?? So, here I am, stuck. :scared2: I spend hours online reading posts and checking out people's myspace profiles trying to learn all that I can. I know I only have to wait another 3 months (actually less) but it seems like forever right now. Sorry to have rambled! I hope to talk to you all again soon!
