two_boysmom 20 Posted March 6, 2013 Anyone hungry 8 days out? I think I felt it today' date=' not sure. Worked through it.[/quote'] I'm 8 days out today and not really hungry, but if another food commercial come on, I'm going to scream.
Chris R 217 Posted March 6, 2013 I do feel hungry before my meals, but it doesn't take much eating to make it go away. It's not like I'm hungry all the time.
courtoomp 107 Posted March 6, 2013 I was STARVING from day 4-10 or so. It was so bad I cried. Yeah, I cried from hunger. Not my cutest moment. But my surgeon said it's common and that it would pass; and guess what...it did! Now, 6 weeks out, I get hungry some but not that grueling stomach eating itself feeling. He said that may be a result of the inflammation causing your stomach to move/grind a lot. Best of luck!
mactrio 41 Posted March 6, 2013 I'm 1 week and 3 days post op and the smell of food still makes me sick. I am having trouble getting in my liquids and the Protein Shakes make me nauseated really bad. Today I've had 24 oz Water, 8 oz skim milk, 8 teaspoons total of cream of wheat (made with skim milk & Splenda) I will try more chicken broth tonight, but so far everything makes me sick. kiki1196 101 Posted March 6, 2013 I'm 8 days out and starving!! I've got real hunger and head hunger. I agree that the tv food commercials are NOT helping!! Ugh!! Hope it ends soon. I'm taking in 400 calories and all my Protein but it doesn't matter, I'm still hungry.
compass75 25 Posted March 7, 2013 Ok, I re assessed and am feeling better! I have not even doing enough Protein Shakes. I started adding one extra scoop of unflavored Protein to my shakes and it took care of it! Thank goodness!
AussieLady 521 Posted March 7, 2013 It can be stomach acid and a lot of people find they need something like Nexium for a while after surgery. Check with your doctor.

Hows that going for you? Did your doctor give you something for nausea?
hattie55 3 Posted March 11, 2013 I want real food. Still on liquids 10 days post op. Taking little sips is kind of depressing b/c I can't just have a drink and be ok. No I have to swallow and wait to see if its too much and then sip and wait, sip and wait. I hope and pray we can drink and eat food a little better or I just can't say its worth it if the focas on life is still FOOD. Yes I miss food.
TexasJazz 13 Posted March 11, 2013 Be encouraged. I am 14 days out and just 4-7 days ago, I felt the same way. Today is my first purée day. It gets better.
