joatsaint 2,814 Posted March 6, 2013 The only cure is time and walking. I had gas pains for about 7 days post-op.
Holly5.3 423 Posted March 6, 2013 I remember living on GasX and marching in place in the middle of the night to get the gas to move up and out! The GasX was for broths which made me gassier. Movement is the best way - pump your arms up and down while marching. You will burp! You may want to do this in private lest someone think you've lost your mind! Good luck! mariewj 1 Posted March 7, 2013 I got home yesterday about 7 pm and am exhausted. I had a 35 mile car ride. I didn't sleep well the one night in the hospital. Today I only managed 24 ounces of tea, broth and Water. The minute I start drinking anything the gas pains are unbearable. Water is the worse. My blood sugars are higher than they should be I think, but the endocrinologist said to bring them down gradually so I don't get in a crisis situation. I've had a low level, headache ever since the pre op diet. I'm hoping to do better tomorrow, get some walking in, I know that may help the gas out. My aim is to walk to the mail box. I know I'm whining but can't help it. Plus, I weigh 1.6 lbs more tan I did the day of the surgery.
