julielle 199 Posted March 7, 2013 The note my surgeon gave me was for 3 weeks off work. Honestly after about 3 days I forgot I ever had surgery, a desk job would have been no issue. The no lifting over 10 pounds was the hardest part, I forgot at one point abou a week post surgery and lifted my niece, she weighed about 15 pounds. Woops. I quickly put her back down. emme 27 Posted March 8, 2013 I just received my FMLA approval letter for 2-4 weeks.. Same here, I'm using 20 PTO time then the rest short term disability time.. HR was very helpful I wondered if it would matter that I was having surgery in Mexico but it did not.. Definitely go through HR ..
guate_mama05 64 Posted March 8, 2013 Emme thanks for sharing. I wondered how HR would treat an out of country surgery. I'm going to go that route.
ByeByefatgirl. 82 Posted March 8, 2013 I only said stomach surgery Thats what I said. Its none of their damn business. I work with a bunch of gossiping women. You know how that would go if they knew.
pantala 125 Posted March 8, 2013 Where I work HR does not process FMLA, Met Life does. So that is an added layer of confidentiality. Nice to know MX surgeons and coordinators are familiar with FMLA paperwork! Better get busy with mine......
