sgreen 0 Posted November 21, 2006 I have had my lap band for four years. My surgeon where I had the surgery used to do my fills. He swore I had 3.4cc's in my 4cc in my band and it was impossible to feel food go thru. I knew better, but didn't know what else to do. I gave up on my band for three years after hearing that. I have since moved to Asheville, NC and found a great doc in Charlotte. Dr. Voellinger. He did an inital flouro and checked my band, and pulled out 1.5cc's. That was all I had. Since then we have found no leak and I after another fill I am getting restriction. I was filled at 2.5 and had to have a small unfill. I am at 2.0 and feel like I may need to go up to 2.2 or so to be at just the right spot. I feel like I have wasted a lot of time but I am so thankful I have found Dr. V and now I am on my way. :clap2: My surgeon did a great job, I think we just had trouble with getting fill done correctly and accurately. We know our bodies and after a while we really can know our bands. I love mine and I am so glad I have it. Don't give up and listen to your body!
CCBSTX 0 Posted November 21, 2006 Better late than never! Wow, that's an incredible story as you had given up. I suppose that you had bitter disappointment that the band just didn't work for you. You are right, we do know our bodies better than some stranger who sees us for 15 minutes. Although, when you get a good doctor and work as a team then it's magic! Congrats!!
