Ms.AntiBand 2,984 Posted March 7, 2013 So what is Vegemite? Is it sold in the US? Yes, but it's something cooks use for sauces and gravy and stews and glazes. It's not something many Americans like just plain. I think it's called Vegix or something.
NewKristen 356 Posted March 7, 2013 I don't think it is the same thing. Vegemite is a by-product of beer. It is made of yeast and has a very very strong bitter flavor. It is usually served on bread or toast. (Nasty!!! Sorry Dean!)
No game 14,437 Posted March 7, 2013 How in the hell did we go from glorious jack in the crack to Vegemite ??

It really is one of those things that you wonder how it gained popularity in the first place - but once you're hooked you're hooked!

buplee 556 Posted March 22, 2013 Since my surgery, I can't get over how many commercials are fast food related. I think I used to ignore them or consider them normal.
No game 14,437 Posted March 22, 2013 I think that's the scary part is that a lot people consider those amounts "normal" that's why I thought it odd when everyone in my house was like yeah? What after they saw that commercial!
buplee 556 Posted March 22, 2013 My wife was mortified when I showed her your post as well as the nutritional content of some of the other fast food ads the forum posted. My wife always said, fast food and super sizes portions along with no self-control is why Americans are no heavy. We noticed when we travel throughout Europe most countries eat several small meals a day.
No game 14,437 Posted March 22, 2013 Super sized! Yes American are doomed... but watch out those fast food chains are slowly working their way around the globe it's only a matter of time!
