I'm 7wks out and eat 600-800 cals a day with >65protein and <50 carbs. Hope this helps. I am going to an actual dietician on Thursday so will update if she enlightens me on anything. I am a very slow loser so maybe my advice is worthless!

My nut told me to take at least 1000 calories a day so that body doesn't go into the starvation mode and start storing fat I have followed the advise and have lost 40 lbs so far

I was sleeved on 1/10 and I'm currently eating/drinking about 600 cals a day. I manage to get between 50-60g protien and TBH I don't count carbs. I stay away from starches/breads, I don't eat junk and I drink only sugar free drinks.

At my 6 week check I had lost 42lbs since surgery.

There is absolutely no way that I could ingest 1200 calories a day without adding junk food/drinks  There is just not enough time in the day to drink the required Fluid, get the required protien and still have time to work and sleep

My surgeon/nut requirements were 64oz Fluid, 60-70g Protein. Most days, I still have trouble with that, there is no way I could do more.

edited to add:

However, if that's working for you, don't change it

Losing weight.. Sorry to be a pain but you should take into account that you are a man and these are women answering, so our intake will be different... You are eating and losing don't stress.

Stalls in weight loss are normal! No matter what your calorie intake is.

I will quit stalking you now :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
