I just had it done yesterday so I haven't heard from him yet. Hopefully not though.

I hope not. When my EKG was abnormal the doc sent me to the cardiologist and the cardiologist did another EKG. He then did a stress test, 24 hour monitor and a echocardiogram. The only bother was pushing through the appointments so my surgery date wasn't delayed.

My surgery date got pushed back anyways. The Friday before my scheduled Monday surgery the doctors office called to let me know that my surgeon had a bicycle accident. He hurt his shoulder. My surgery got pushed back three weeks;0( whaaaaa

During all of my pre op testing my EKG came back abnormal. After several test with the cardiologist they discovered that I have a hole in my heart (heart murmur) and a irregular heart beat which the doctor prescribe medication for (Toprol).

I'm not really scared of the procedure itself but terrified that something will go wrong with my heart while under! The cardiologist said the risk is low to moderate' date='

Does anyone else have a similar situation?

Please share your thoughts fellow (soon to be ) sleevers.[/quote']

A few years ago my doctor also found a whole in my heart with an irregular blood flow. I was really nervous as I too have never been under. However, the cardiologist and anesthesiologist said that I am completely heathy. I am starting to do self injects of blood thinner a few days prior to surgery and 30 days after. I can't lie I'm a bit nervous but all the important people lol ur surgeron, cardio and anesthesiologist said ill be fine. Good luck I am sure you and me will be good :)

I will be sleeved on March 18th with Dr Cabrera at Mi Doctor in Tijuana. I am so excited, nervous, and scared all at the same time. I don't start my pre op diet until Friday. Has anyone else out there used this Dr and hospital?

Hey everybody. .. One week away.

Whooooohoooo! I'm ready;0)

I'm REALLY struggling with the diet. Am I alone? I've got the devil on one shoulder and the angel on the other. I'm trying sooooo hard to be good. I wish I could fast forward to after the procedure.

I'm so ready - this diet is so hard - I don't want to diet, I want the surgery!! Nevertheless, I did pretty good today - I'm down a whole 3.5lbs after a week - sigh

I'm loving the SpedialK K2O Water - 5 grams Protein and 5 grams Fiber, no yucky aftertaste - I wonder what a Popsicle made from it would be like?

My pre-op tests are Thursday morning - praying for no surprises.

I got the call from the complication insurance company today too - things are moving along.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
