I have my sleeve surgery set for March 19th but last Friday I had emergency gallbladder surgery. I just got lo ut of the hospital today. I have to call my surgeon tomorrow to make sure my surgery won't get delayed. The hospital staff thinks that it won't get delayed but I'm freaking out. Im so ready for this. I've lost 51 pounds in 2 months to prep. Any words of encouragement?

Breathe, pray if you do that, even though it is hard to believe when the chips are down, everything happens for a reason.

If your doc says you can still do it then your original plan is still in place. A LOT of people need their gall bladder removed after surgery, I guess you are just special :-))

try to get some sleep .....let us know what your doc says.

Hopefully the hospital staff is right and it won't be delayed. I had to have emergency gallbladder removal surgery in 2008 and I know it seems dramatic and horrible at the time, but it's a simple surgery and you'll heal so quickly! I was back to work in 2 days! :) I have a feeling you'll be right on track still and the weight you've lost will help as you heal from this emergency surgery you've had! Fingers crossed for you!!

I've had my gallbladder removed 4 months after my sleeve. Sounds to me that since you've lost 51 pounds pre op is the reason you need to have your gallbladder removed. It took me 30 days to completely recover from gallbladder surgery. The sleeve is a breeze compared to gallbladder surgery. In my opinion it's all downhill from here. Wishing you the best.

The weight loss is probably the number one factor in your gallbladder issues, I totally agree! Mine came out after my weight went up and down from my lap band. Interesting to hear such a difference in recovery time from gallbladder surgery. I returned to work on day 3 and was fully recovered by week 2. Hopefully for the sake of your surgery your recovery is that quick too! :)

I did go back to work after 5 days. However I think I lifted something to heavy and hurt myself. I remember alot of pain when I raised my arms. Dr. said maybe I pulled a muscle.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
