Recommended Posts

Fabulous Katia! I was sleeved at 9:00 am and only minor pain. Surgery went great. I am damn thirsty though! I hope everyone else is doing great as well.

Muuaahahahaha I'm sorry that's not really funny its it kind of is... lol. Now why would they issue stupid numbers like 13 and 666. Stay positive!

In some cultures six is a number that means family and friends and the home so it could mean you have a lot of people pulling for you! :)

I had my surgery as well. So far some abdominal pain controlled with the pca pump. Only complaint is a very dry mouth. Walked 3 laps around the unit. Leak test tomorrow then hopefully home!

Will pray for you SlimJim! I had to be put on oxygen overnight as my level dropped into the 80s. Nurses here said it happens to most sleevers.

Guys I had a panic attack on the way to the hospital and therefore had to cancel but I am rescheduled for April 1. They have now given me meds for the panic attacks so I should be fine. I am keeping my fingers crossed. I am trying it today and so far its working.

Jenah, I am so sorry to hear that! I hope all goes well :) I am home and doing pretty good. Just drinking Water and sipping some broth. I didn't desire anything but water the last two days so I knew I should do some broth. Starting out with 2oz. I'm not too sore, the drain is a major pain! Glad everyone else seems good.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
