Frozen Yogurt Six days out?

It just bananas cut up and frozen. Then they take them out and throw them in a blender. So it the exact consistency of frozen yogurt. Delish!

YUUUUUMMMM!!!!

I use frozen mango (when you can) from trader joes and throw a banana in a little milk mix it in the blender... My son LOVES it.

And don't sweat the rude people they probably need to eat a cheeseburger and calm down :o

It's funny because the thought if having a smoothy type drink instead of frozen yogurt didn't even cross my mind. That would be a much more rewarding treat (when I am ready to go there) than frozen yogurt! ;)

I ate Orange Leaf within the first couple of weeks. I was having a hard time getting anything down one day and we went into town for something (I live in the country)...so we stopped there and I got some NSA. I got down maybe 2 tablespoons. I didn't get sick and even felt a little better with something in my stomach. That was the only time I did it.

here's a smoothie i love.....1 c 1 percent over moon milk. 11g p 120 cal

1/2 frozen banana, 2 T choc pb 2 4p 50 cal ac couple of cubes....blend. it's Like a dessert, 15 g p and around 200 calories......and thou get as little fruit which is completely pulverized so all good...their in a little lite vanilla yogurt to further boost your Protein.< /p>

Haven't read the whole thread yet, but I'd say no to the frozen yogurt right now, even sugar/fat free versions. I became (and still am) lactose intolerant after my sleeve. I can't eat any dairy except cheese without having horrible diarrhea and cramping. I cannot imagine having that happen this soon post-op. You may be luckier than me and not have those issues, but I'd be very cautious simply because many people apparently have lactose intolerance for some period of time after the sleeve. I was hoping mine might be related to my gallbladder, but nothing has changed since it was removed a month ago.

p.s. i use a T of real maple Syrup my 0 percent Greek yogurt..it's more palatable i that T of maple syrup i choose to enjoy the Very food i eat now. 42 days out 33 lbs post op.....woohoo! good luck to u!

If you're craving something frozen and creamy, I found this recipe for Protein ice cream on pinterest. Haven't made it yet, but it looks like a good way to get in enough Protein. I'm not a big fan of Protein shakes, so I hope this will be more palatable.

I think in the early days getting enough nutrients is just as important as being "good". Our bodies are not designed to starve for very long.

She basically takes milk (soy, almond or regular) Protein powder and flavorings and then uses an electric milk foamer to get it frothy before putting it in the ice cream maker.

They look so good, I'm going to have to buy an ice cream maker!

Good. You're off to an even better start than me. I think that sometimes people project a little too much in these threads. For some people maybe that first cup of frozen yogurt WAS the beginning of the end but that is reading quite a bit into things. I am a failed lapband patient so I can see one might feel that way but here is what I can tell you - frozen yogurt didn't make me fat again after lapband. It was the trip after trip to the Chinese buffet' date=' pints of ben and jerrys, huge orders from taco bell, 4 slices of cheesecake in one day....... you get the picture. I understand what she is talking about when she says she started rationalizing things, but we all have to go back to life as usual at some point, and life is not always a picture perfect bariatric diet. At some point we have to get real about what we actually did to ourselves. It's easier to talk about the little things we did to ourselves to mess up instead of the big things. Talking about negotiating some frozen yogurt is a lot prettier than talking about how a lot of us used to sit at home by ourselves with repulsive amounts of food chowing down and never lifting a single fat finger to work out. Thats the ugly reality of it.

First, I'm really sorry if the way I worded anything offended you. I didn't mean anything to sound mean at all. And I don't think that because you thought about trying some frozen yogurt you'll fail!! I even said I think it's a great alternative for a healthy dessert. I just said I think 6 days is too early. But I'm not even sleeved yet! What the hell do I know?!? Lol

And Grace is right. And I didn't mean it that way either. I certainly didn't get fat by cheating early on my post op diet, I just meant my mind set of keeping that food addiction and looking for ways to add sweets in back early. Then totally, over time that same food addiction ended up at the buffet jamming slider foods down my throat as fast as my band could take it. I think your food choice is a good one if you wanted something sweet, my comment was in regards to it being so early out and sticking to your post op diet. You've done so well getting to where you are, I just thought you should hold out a little longer until your doc's diet permitted it. I think in the long run, it'll help your losses and your mental/emotional process. But everyone goes through this in different ways and we don't all have the same relationship with food. So I'm sorry if you were offended by what I said, I was just trying to share what I put myself through and offer support. Didn't mean to be rude.

You do want to lose weight right? I bet that you did not pay for your surgery.........

I am very sorry to be off topic but this comment bothers me ALOT!!! Are you trying to imply that the only people who value and take this surgery seriously are the ones who pay out of pocket for it...?

I was very lucky to have my insurance pay for my surgery, that being said I pay VERY HIGH premiums biweekly for my health insurance, and yes I am blessed to have great insurance that covered my sleeve surgery, but that in no way shape or form mean I take getting 80% of my stomach cut out lightly... I think this was not a very fair comment to make...

      Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
      1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

        All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

      I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
