Frozen Yogurt Six days out?

Recommended Posts

I wasn't trying to be judgmental nor was i saying that I will never have any sweets ever again...I hope no one took it that way... I am just saying that this early on in the game its probably a good idea to try change our way of thinking! I was just trying to be encouraging!

Is it the worst food choice in the world? No. It's a good sensible dessert choice. Later.

I failed at a weight loss surgery by negotiating things like this. By introducing foods I really shouldn't eat just a bit too early because they really sounded good. I don't think anyone means to attack you, but maybe a little "tough love."

You have gone through a serious surgery. Six days ago. Don't start negotiating your food choices now. Stick to the liquids. Whether is fun to hear or not, you know darn well that frozen yogurt is "ice cream light" ... all the joy without the guilt. Yes, it is a good dessert alternative, but wait for the sweets until your diet has progressed further. It'll be hard now, but you'll be glad you did it down the road. I promise!! :)

Aww frozen yogurt... The "gateway" food

Sent from my iPhone using VST

Gateway food? Really- I am not sleeved yet (good ol' band girl) but I think Fro-Yo is a great option for a healthy dessert once in awhile. Its when you load it with toppings and eat 16oz of it that you need to check yourself.

I knew a girl who was banded that had those "moo-lattes" from Dairy Queen 2x daily- she came into the surgeons office crying she couldn't lose weight. After a quick google search she was stunned at how many calories they were. Lol... I mean she didn't even realize it. She left the office claiming she couldn't give them up- surgeon refused to adjust her band until she did.

Sounds like OP is aware of her dietary choices and calories.

KimiKat3: I imagine if it was sugar free' date=' you'd be good! Those Fro-yo places are BOMB! I haven't been sleeved yet, but have been through the lapband post op stage (back when it was super serious to do liquids 2 weeks, 2 weeks soft...) and man did I get bored!

I would get a small one, let it mouth in your mouth a bit and eat just a little. See how you feel. I can't think of one thing wrong here- NO IDEA why people attack. This truly came off as an innocent question.

How come you can't have greek yogurt yet? Did I overlook something?[/quote']

Thanks!

I'm not sure why. My surgeon and dietitian both told me to wait a week out before introducing in yogurt, pudding, cottage cheese...

So my first week is liquids only, then on Wednesday I can introduce the new "foods".

Get a Yonanas- youtube it. Tastes like Fro-yo... maybe its just where I live but we have places that have sorbet and no sugar fro-yo- skip the toppings. I guess I didn't realize its THAT bad for you.

I also recently read someone buys greek yogurt and low carb yogurt in the little containers and freezes them.

AHHH! Forgive me I didn't read how far you were out! Yes stick to your plan- I thought you were further out. Call your surgeon, they always know.

It even says on your thread title- I'm sorry. I must be tired!

I don't think someone saying "I bet you didn't pay for your surgery" is considered to be tough love. Or at least that's not how I have taken it.

I had my surgery done for the same reason everybody else has. I want to be healthy and live a healthy lifestyle. I haves dr every attempt to do that so far. I was just curious about frozen yogurt and thought I would throw it out there... I didn't say I was driving there to get some or that I had already eaten any... It was merely a thought. An honest question.

Thank you.

I am aware of my current diet options. I just was questioning frozen yogurt. I mean... We can have sf fudge pops and we can have sf pudding, so I PERSONALLY wasn't sure I'd there was a big difference between these and froyo...

Thank you for your response. ;)

ok, here might be another option for you as a fellow Day 6'er. I have put in the blender some skim milk, some crushed ice, Protein powder then I added a packet of Hawiian Punch sf packets or you could use any kind, Mio, etc...give it a whirl, instant Protein smoothie, Just remember not to use the straw, then pour some into small containers and put into the FREEZER. When I had my 4 oz one this afternoon, it was just like frozen yogurt.

Good luck. I hope to be able to attack creamed Soups, we'll see on Tuesday when I go for my check-up.

My saving food at this point was sugar free popcicles. I'm 5 months out and I still can't live without them. They where wonderful because you can bite them and then just let them melt in your mouth. They where recommended to me by my nutritionist for the first 2 weeks when you so miss eatting real food. They got me through at the beginning. Good luck

I went to orange leaf with my husband on my 7th day post op (NOT a good call)

Yeah, I did it though, and I'm owning it, but I really wished I hadn't. It made me feel quite sick.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
