The drain didn't hurt me, though it didn't feel pleasant coming out.

You got it. Just didnt wanna gross anyone out.

Gotta say' date=' it's one of the best pics of it I've seen. I looked for shots like this when I was PRE op and didn't find anything.

Is it teeny tiny? I can try to make it bigger somehow. I'm on my phone and sometimes it posts itty bitty.[/quote']

I can see it. Thats cool. I want a pic of mine. Im getti.g aleeved next week. Seems kinda big but idk how big they should be? My good friend did hers a year ago and her doc told her hers was big to. Now shes A Hot mamma

Most drains only remain in a couple days and I didn't even know I had one until I checked out my tummy. Never bothered me and it only felt weird coming out but not painful. They just sterilize the area pull it out and sterilize the area again and close it. Piece of cake

They didn't close my drain hole, they said it would close on it's own. No steristrips or anything on it. I put a bandaid on it for a few days because I didn't want to get blood on my clothes, it took about 5 days for the hole to completely close on it's own. It's my smallest scar now, it's not nearly as raised as the others.

I went to my pre op visit on Tuesday and my surgeon said that they don't test the portion of the stomach that they remove so my picture should look different.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
