Can we put Neosporin or anything on them to help them heal faster/better?

I was told nothing on my incisions but I have seen some people say they have so I guess the best bet is don't do it until you ask your surgeon.

Depends if your surgeon used glue or not...the neosporin will disolve the glue, the glue is holding incision together.....I used nothing until 3 weeks post op then I used antibiotic ointment and now 5 weeks out I use Vitamin E....

Hope this helps but ask you Doctor!

I used triple antibiotic ointment. Per Dr orders because my incision opened a e, and I had glue. But be careful cause it does moisten the scab and you want the scab to stay. I am 7 weeks out and my scabs on the two larger incisions just came off a few days ago.

My surgeon used glue so that must be why he said nothing on them.

Good to know!

I am 2 1/2 weeks post op and My largest incision (the one they removed my stomach from) is all scabbed up and is starting to get redness around it but not really warm to touch! Did you have this problem with that incision... I am just curious to know someone else's healing process... The edema ins glue came off a few days ago and that is when the redness started???

Meh, what did your doctor tell you? I waited to use anything until mine were pretty well scabbed over.

I actually called and spoke with the nurse yesterday and she told me that I needed to remove the scab so that it will continue to heal properly! I removed some skin around it but the actual scab is about the size of a nickel and its not budging (and I would rather let it fall off its self)! I am just watching it closely right now!

I am also having issues with my big one. It's red around and itches. It's also very sore to the touch!

She told you to remove the scab?

Yikes!

I don't know about that -__-

I would take some Benadryl (liquid)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
