I am also having issues with my big one. It's red around and itches. It's also very sore to the touch!

Well maybe that is to be expected! I had it checked again on Wednesday and my surgeon said it will scab up and fall off! I guess we just have to keep a close eye in it! :)

I know... I thought that was the craziest thing I have ever heard! I am taking Benadryl... I am just going to keep hanging on!! :)

If your rash is still present Monday call your surgeons office.

Hopefully they give you a reasonable answer lol

I hope you start doing better!!! :)

If just one or two of your incisions is red, call the surgeon to make sure you're not infected. If all incisions are red and itchy, you may be allergic to the glue used to seal them. I had that happen; it was awful and is rather common. The doc approved me to take benadryl pills but not for any topicals.

I also had an allergic reaction to the glue. Red, itchy and somewhat painful. They had me go in to double check.

Oh god. pull the scab off, no way! What happened with mine, is I caught the towel on my scab. It lifted and started bleeding and oozing, it was not closed under that scab, so I would not pull scab off. The incisions do get a little darker red around them as they heal. And they start to itch as they heal. That's normal, and if you just leave them alone they will heal up hopefully without any problems. My one incision closed back up and rescabed. It's full healed at 7 weeks.

I had one incision that became red but my surgeons office said no ointment at all beause the moisture inhibits healing. Also that same incision had a scab and my surgeon said do not pull it off. The scab will slowly get smaller or fall off when it is ready and as the wound continues to heal. Hope this helps.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
